We have just had news that a rather special family have decided to return to Delph with their unborn children.
The Little Ringed Plover is a rare breeding species in the UK that is specially protected under Schedule 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. This status makes it an offence to disturb these birds, their nests or their young at or near the nest site during the breeding season.
The bird protection team from United Utilities will place a cordon around the nesting site on our beach and can we please ask that all members are respectful of our very special visitors.
